Fox, 28, a native of Fort Wayne, Ind., was on leave at the time of his death. Fox was assigned to Marine Helicopter Squadron One at Quantico, VA. He was shot in the head, and declared
a suicide March 19, 1999 Fox's body and a gun were discovered in his car,
Police said they believe Fox was driving west on Interstate 68 when he ran off the road, hit a guard rail and damaged the front and rear ends of his car before going on to a school, Bruceton School. Police said they found a crash site along the highway between the Maryland - West Virginia line and the Hazelton exit. Items at the site matched Fox's car, which had an Indiana license plate.
